No Gi GrapplingNo Gi Grappling
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu’s counterpart is No Gi grappling. While BJJ is practiced with a traditional Gi and belt, no gi grappling is an art that is practiced with competitors only wearing shorts and possible a rash guard or T-shirt. No gi grappling tends to be a quicker, more sportive grappling style that resembles wrestling except grappling has the submissions of Jiu-Jitsu. Competitors grapple to dominant position and try to apply submission holds to make the other competitor “tap out” or submit. No gi grappling is a must for anyone interested in competing in mixed martial arts or grappling tournaments. Our head instructor, Jucão, has an extensive no gi grappling résumé including 2 Abu Dhabi appearances. The no gi grappling class consists of a 20-30 warm up, approximately 30 minutes of technique drilling and 20-30 minutes of live grappling sparring. Beginners and advanced students are welcome! See you on the mat!
